Status
Not on viewLawson's paintings couple a distinctive Impressionist technique with a fascination for man-made structures and their relation to the natural environment. The rapid expansion of New York City, here encroaching on the more sparsely settled northern portions of Manhattan, is viewed through the veiling effects of light, color, and Lawson's brilliant brushwork.
