More Information
Nepomuceno’s rope weaving, straw braiding, beading, and ceramics draw on traditional methods of the native Huni Kuin people with whom she has worked in the state of Acre in the north of Brazil. Her brilliant colors and organic forms combine different scales and perspectives, evoking body parts, landscapes, and plants. Some of her works contain references to earlier Brazilian Neo-Concrete artists such as Lygia Clark.
