This print, produced in support of the Department of Prints and Illustrated Books at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, features patterns of repetition and images that relate to Picasso and sign language—hinting at the complex lexicon and web of meaning that make up so many of Johns’s works. The artist kindly donated the print to the Allen in recognition the museum’s centennial.
