Schiff [1877-1931], New York, by 1927; (his sale, Parke-Bernet, New York, May 4, 1946, lot 5);² (purchased 1946 by French and Co., New York); purchased 1948 by Allen Memorial Art Museum, Oberlin, OH Notes: ¹ Found in "Catalogue of valuable works of art comprising important bronzes, statuary, majolica and furniture of the Italian Renaissance; German wood-carvings; Oriental rugs, etc. the Property of Mrs. Best (formerly known as the Zeiss Collection)..." as "Faenza Dish." ² Found in "The Magnificent Collection of Italian Majolica formed by the Late Mortimer L. Schiff" as "Faenza Casa Pirota Armorial Plate." A Note suggests that the plate was "executed for Fiammetta, daughter of Tommaso Soderini and wife of Bindi di Antonia Altoviti."Exhibition History
