More Information
This print is the result of a copper sketch-plate on which four artists etched small compositions. According to an inscription on the verso, the renderings occurred during a soirée at the home of Charles de Bériot (1833-1914), a musician and son of the famous Belgian violinist and composer Charles Auguste de Bériot (1802-1870). In addition to it being a fascinating record of artistic collaboration, this print contains the only known etching by Daumier.
