Not on viewIn describing her works from the early 2000s, Skuodas noted that they “arise from a meditative contemplation of seemingly disparate phenomena, which we have compartmentalized, and yet which function in tandem, parallel realizations of that ever-changing continuum we call Life: a cosmic dance of consequence.” She further noted that, although her work had become more abstract, “occasionally the ghost of a female figure recurs, as symbol and metaphor, for me, representative of the violation of universal soul or the brutalization of Mother Earth.” Here, her texts draw the viewer’s attention to both physics and metaphysics, to the elements of the material world and to our consciousness of a connection to them.
