ProvenanceFrank Lloyd Wright; acquired by the Bishop Anderson Foundation¹; acquired ca.1970 by Mitzie Verne via the Cracker Barrel, Interlochen, MI²; by gift 2006 to Allen Memorial Art Museum, Oberlin, OH Notes: [1] According to research conducted by Mitzie Verne, Frank Lloyd Wright sold Japanese woodblock prints from his collection to help pay his debts to a Chicago industrialist. This industrialist then sold the prints to the Bishop Anderson Foundation, a Chicago medical foundation. [2] The owners of the Cracker Barrel, a coffee house in Interlochen, MI, displayed the prints to assist the Bishop Anderson Foundation in their sale. Exhibition History
