This is one of a series of six drawings in the museum made to illustrate Three Young Rats and Other Rhymes, a whimsical book of nursery-rhymes edited by James Johnson Sweeney and published by the dealer Curt Valentin in 1944. The poem that this illustrates reads: "Betty my sister and I fell out / And what do you think it was all about? / She loved coffee and I loved tea, / And that is the reason we could not agree."
