辕门桥上卖花新,舆隸凶如马踢人。滚熱扬州居不得,老夫还踏海边春。

On the Yuanmen Bridge, where fresh flowers are sold, those laborers are as fierce as horses kicking people.
The heat in Yangzhou is so unbearable that I retreated
to live by the sea, where it feels like spring.
