Status
Not on viewAfter a brief career in acting—following in the footsteps of her mother, stage actress Jeannette Nolan—Holly Wright pursued a degree in English from UCLA and graduate studies in photography at the University of Iowa. Wright’s photographs are highly personal and psychologically probing. Her series "True Saints" features intimate portrayals of individuals posing as modern-dress versions of biblical characters. The idea of performance is central to Wright’s photographic stagings: “My particular interest is role playing and self-images, what is real and what is authentic faking.”
