This is a sketch for the exhibition Anti-Illusion: Procedures / Materials, on view at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, May 19–July 6, 1969. The exhibition included Hesse’s sculptures Expanded Expansion, Vinculum I, and Untitled (Ice Piece), all from 1969, but Hesse’s contributions did not conform to this draft layout.
