Not on viewThis drawing is a study for the apse mural in the Dominican church of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Paris. Blondel, a history painter and highly accomplished draughtsman, was equally adept at ancient, medieval, modern, and religious subjects, portraits, and genre paintings. This flexibility guaranteed him popular and official success.
