Not on viewThis leaf has text from Psalm 119, the longest psalm in the Bible. Many medieval psalters included elaborate decorations and images with this psalm, as in the present leaf, which incorporates a beastie into the decoration along its left border. This border decoration continues a tradition that began at the onset of medieval book illumination, seven hundred years earlier.
