In 1896 William Morris commissioned the noted architectural photographer Frederick Evans to photograph Morris's Tudor farmhouse Kelmscott Manor. Kelmscott served as a country retreat for Morris and his fellow artists such as Dante Gabriel Rossetti and Edward Burne-Jones.
